Beautiful Thursday | A Weekend with Simon

RECENTLY WE FELT OUR EARS RINGING WHICH USUALLY MEANS SOMEONE IS TALKING ABOUT YOU. NOW WE HAVE TO ADMIT THIS IS SOMETHING THAT HAPPENS QUITE A LOT, BUT THIS ‘RINGING’ HAD A SPECIAL SOUND TO IT. WE DECIDED TO GIVE IT SOME ATTENTION AND ARE HAPPY WE DID SO, BECAUSE IT BROUGHT US IN CONTACT WITH PAUL REITZ, AND THROUGH HIM WITH THE INCREDIBLE TASTY SIMON CZAPLINKSI.

Encouraged by his father Paul Reitz picked up a camera and started shooting at early age. he first gained acclaim when honing his skills in photography at the University of Oklahoma, where he landed the opportunity to shoot sexy and daring ads (often too daring for the local newspaper) for a hip clothing store.  Soon after, he decided to focus his attention on two subjects - men and architecture. - and for using natural light. And that one doesn’t necessary has to exclude the other proofs this series with Simon, whom by himself is a piece of beautiful architecture.

Recently Paul, who has been living in New York for 20 years, and has spent the last several balancing dual careers as a producer of large-scale charity events and as a photographer, met his friend Walter Kurtz, not unknown to the regular Beautiful visitors, for dinner, and that is the moment we got that special ringing sensation in our ears. Paul Reitz’ passion is working with new faces from the men's divisions at various agencies. He explains: "I really enjoy shooting new faces the most... working one-on-one to capture them in my way, which often involves challenging someone, pushing them to see themselves differently, to inhabit some edgier space. And with more experienced men, I love taking someone who has done only the kind of work you'd see with some wholesome, ‘all-American’ brand, and throwing them into a gritty backdrop and letting them become something different." Paul has been fortunate to work with some brilliant, beautiful men in New York and from around the world, and has a bit of a reputation for what some models and agents have called a guerilla-style approach, as it often involves sneaking into forbidden places. "Capturing that adventure together bears huge rewards, for me and for the model."

  Unlike his name might suggest, Simon Czaplinski originates from Rockford, Illinois. The man is 25 years old and has that absolute natural beauty and charm that made us completely fall for him. Open minded and easy going, he has in relatively short time been able to work with quite some well known photographers, like Kristopher Kelly, Rick Day, Edendale Studios and now also with Paul Reitz. Paul continues: "I met Simon through one of my best friends, Zach...and we immediately hit it off. We had the opportunity to spend several days together before shooting on a chilly, rainy New York weekend. I wanted to capture who I had come to know, in a much more vulnerable, open, softly sensual way than most people have - or would - capture him." Simon has that arresting, intense sexuality that is as inviting as it is disarming and over the course of one weekend, Paul and him shot thousands of images, with an end result that can make both of them very proud. Both models, setting and lighting are signature examples of Paul’s personal style and a valuable addition to Simon’s fast growing portfolio. –B-

Beautiful Thursday | Corona, Crown of Central Park

WHEN WINTER APPROACHES AND THE LEAFS FALL FROM THE TREES, ALL OF NATURE IS SLOWLY PREPARING ITSELF FOR A QUIET REST IN ORDER TO REGAIN ITS STRENGTH TO ONCE MORE OPEN UP AND EXPLODE IN RICH BLOSSOMS IN EARLY SPRING NEXT YEAR. ALL OF NATURE, EXCEPT RANDY CORONA.

Randy Corona was born twenty-one years ago in the Dominican Republic, but, like many of his people, he was raised in New York City. Part of his everyday lifestyle is staying in shape. He loves anything physical, and that includes sports, dancing and martial arts. No wonder you can find him in the gym often, or having a healthy meal. But regardless of his disciplined regime, he always finds time to have fun with his many friends.

Working out so much actually forced Randy to reduce quite some muscle mass and drop a lot of pounds once he had his mind set on trying to become a professional model and actor. Being very aware of the fact it won’t be an easy road to take, he is determined to bring something different in the American fashion and arts scene. For sure his recent cooperation with fashion heroes Nico & Adrian and the successful and energetic photographer-slash-body painter Ricardo Muñiz is already a very good step into the right direction.

It was this last artist who came with the unique concept of combining photography and body art into a tasteful late fall series. Dressed in nothing more then a leaf, Randy Corona turns into the embodiment of the ever changing nature, but instead of preparing for winter, Randy turns into a blossoming branch with colorful leafs, maturing into a trunk and finally taking solid root. If Randy looks anything remotely close to Adam, it isn’t hard to imagine why Eve couldn’t resist a little taste. Together with Ricardo Muñiz, Randy Corona creates his own Garden of Eden in Central Park, and it is clear he has planted his seed in order to harvest a beautiful modeling career. –B-

AS YOU ARE USED TO IF YOU VISIT BEAUTIFULMAG REGULARLY, WE TALK A LOT ABOUT MODELS AND PHOTOGRAPHERS, WHAT DRIVES THEM AND WHAT THEIR PASSION IS. MANY GUYS HAVE A CERTAIN GOAL IN MIND WHEN THEY ENTER THE WORLD OF ART MODELING, AND IT IS A FACT THAT THIS BUSINESS CAN BRING YOU TO UNEXPECTED PLACES. BUT IT ISN’T OFTEN THAT THROUGH THIS WORK YOU CAN FIND THE MAN OF YOUR LIFE.

Tony and Clint are a real life couple and they met through the modeling industry. They are about to celebrate their first anniversary, and as you can see, they are still very much in love and make a great couple. Even though not in the big city - they are living in Pennsylvania, which isn’t exactly close to the blooming modeling places - the two boys are quite active when it comes to modeling and visit new York regularly.  Still it was quite special they drove 4 hours to come to New York City in order to pose for this series, shot by Frank Louis.

Frank Louis is of course no stranger to us. We have had the privilege of featuring many of his extra ordinary photographic essays, all of them so representative for his strong passion for dance and everything that is Italian. Frank has his studio in the West Village where he happily receives interesting models who are comfortable in front of the camera. Hence his work with Tony and Clint.

The concept for this shooting was simple: to capture two sexy men, both as striking individuals and as an unity together. "They [Tony and Clint] are outstanding models to work with," Frank comments on his session with the couple. "In many ways they seem even more comfortable nude than fully clothes. We used natural light from my loft windows where they were very comfortable posing nude in front of." It is easy to recognize the passion between the two man. Their kisses are sweet and sensual, their attitudes exciting and professional in their assignment. "They are fearless in front of the camera, willing to try anything and giving it their all." And from these images we’d say they sure did. And so did Frank. –B-

Beautiful Thursday | Getting Rusty at Blacks Beach

BLACKS BEACH IS KNOWN FOR MANY THINGS. FOR STARTS, IT IS A POPULAR BEACH IN LA JOLLA, SAN DIEGO. PART OF THE BEACH LIES IN A STATE PARK WHERE THE NATURE IS BREATH TAKING. AND FINALLY IT IS ALSO A BEACH WHERE NUDITY IS LEGAL AND IT IS MOST PROBABLY THE LARGEST NUDE BEACH IN THE UNITED STATES. BUT THAT IS NOT THE REASON WHY DYLAN ROSSER WENT THERE LAST SUMMER WHEN HE WAS VISITING THE WEST COAST OF THE UNITED STATES.

Some weeks ago, London based South African photographer Dylan Rosser took a well deserved break at the west coast of the USA. But a break for Dylan always include a bit of work. Which is logical when your work is your passion. Hence Dylan went on a vacation with his best friend: his camera. And Dylan wouldn’t be Dylan if he hadn’t planned a couple of shoots with a couple of guys. Sexy guys.

His first stop was San Diego where Dylan Rosser had planned a day of shooting with three different models. Unfortunately one canceled and another never showed up. Not Rusty though. He was there, and eventually he was all that was necessary to make the day a success.

The weather that particular day wasn’t at its best, which by itself wasn’t that bad. It only meant there weren’t that many people on the beach which Dylan used to his advantage to shoot this terrific series with Rusty. Rusty isn’t a complete stranger for the lens of a camera. Maybe you haven’t seen him much as a model, there is a fair chance you might have seen him in a complete different media. Rusty has done some adult gay movies in his past which probably explains why he didn’t take long before getting his clothes off. And even though Dylan repeatedly told him ‘hard shots’ weren’t necessary, Rusty proved he wasn’t that rusty at all. The result can be seen on Dylan’s website. –B-

WHEN WE STARTED OUR SECTION BEAUTIFUL THURSDAY BACK IN OCTOBER 2007, WE COULD NOT IMAGINE THIS ITEM WOULD DEVELOP INTO A PORTFOLIO WITH SOME OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND SEXY MEN ON THE INTERNET. AND ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR GALLERIES ON THE INTERNET. NEEDLESS TO SAY THAT – EVEN THOUGH IT WAS OUR OWN DECISION TO DO SO – IT WASN’T EASY TO STOP THE REGULAR PARADE OF MAN CANDY. HENCE THE FACT WE CAN NOT RESIST TO BRING THE BEAUTIFUL THURSDAY BACK. OCCASIONALLY.

For more then two years we have presented you a new exciting Beautiful Thursday on a weekly base. Many of you will probably remember that this was also the gallery on BeautifulMag that gave us the opportunity to show you a little bit more than the usual. Which is probably one of the reasons why the beautiful Thursday enjoyed such popularity. But, as it is the case with everything else that is good, also the regular Beautiful Thursday features have come to an end. But every now and then we encounter a guy that would be perfect for a Thursday feature, and even if it isn’t on the menu anymore, it doesn’t mean you can’t order it.

For many Beautiful Thursday men we turned our eyes towards the south. Or, to be more precise, towards Brazil. Today we bring you another Brazilian, but the story is reversed. In fact, this man came pretty much knocking on our European door. Murillo is his name, and he lives since two years already in Hamburg, Germany. Which, if our memory is correct, makes him pretty much the first German Thursday guy in BeautifulMag’s history. So what’s with the title then? Dutch Pride? Keep reading. We will get to that soon.

As mentioned before Murillo is resident of the German city Hamburg, but he works on more European locations. He is a go go dancer and features at many parties in Germany, Belgium and Holland. Some of you might also recognize his face, among other body parts, from an incidental European porn movie he featured in. Recently Murillo visited Amsterdam for the 2008 gay pride, and this is when he got in contact with Malemodel photographer Gert Kist. Gert, as we all know, is a specialist when it comes to finding, and shooting, the most exciting – and sometimes exotic – Dutch men. This time he shot the 25 years old Germany based Brazilian Murillo, in The Netherlands, and having Murillo as the new figure head of the popular Dutch website Malemodel, he did become Dutch pride. Beautiful Thursday | Turkish Delight

HAVING HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF PRESENTING YOU THE WORK OF DUTCH PHOTOGRAPHER GERT KIST ON REGULAR BASE, ONE START TO SEE A VERY DISTINCTIVE SIGNATURE STYLE. EVEN IF WE WOULDN’T TELL YOU THIS IS YET ANOTHER SERIES OF THE POPULAR WEBSITE MALEMODEL.NL, THE LAY OUT AND PHOTOGRAPHIC ANGLES USED HERE WOULD PROBABLY GIVE IT AWAY.

Gert Kist’s work for his website Malemodel.nl characterizes itself through a soberness and clean sensuality, in combination with often very low angles that places his subjects in quite seductive positions and gives them the opportunity to truly flaunt what they’ve got. A successful approach that he once again proofs with this series of the super sexy Murat.

Murat truly shows what The Netherlands are about: a multi-racial country hosting some very tasteful gentlemen. Murat origins from Turkey but can call The Netherlands his home for many years already. This 21 years old hunk is based in the city of Almelo, a name that might sound a little bit familiar to you if you are known with Gert Kist’s portfolio. Almelo is also the homebase of Oscar, another Malemodel man. If you plan to visit Almelo, be sure you go by car. Murat works in a gas station so that way you have more chance to accidentally meet him. If not, then it is advisable to visit one of Almelo’s gymclubs, where Murat spends a fair amount of his time.

As it is the case with many of the guys you can find on Malemodel, this session was Murat’s debut in front of the camera. Over the past years Malemodel, with its glamor series and erotic nude series, has brought many new models in the spotlight, and not without success. Photographer and webmaster Gert Kist has built an impressive portfolio of a rich variety of Dutch men, in all their glory. It is certainly worth a visit, both the site and the country. –B-

Beautiful Thursday | The Divine Hakon Kvaeken

THERE ARE MANY WAYS THAT ENSURE YOU TO HAVE A GREAT BODY, BUT IF YOU ASK US, THERE IS NOTHING THAT BETS THE NATURAL MUSCULAR SHAPE OF A REAL ATHLETE. NO MATTER HOW MANY HOURS YOU SPEND IN THE GYM, PUMPING IRON, IT JUST ISN’T THE SAME AS THE BEAUTIFUL CURVES YOU GET AFTER YEARS OF INTENSIVE SPORTS PRACTICE. HAKON KVAEKEN IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF THAT.

Hakon Kvaeken is of Norwegian origin. He tanks his well defined body to being a passionate track and field athlete. And believe it or not, but this hunk who seems to be a modern embodiment Baldr, the Norwegian god of beauty, is only 19 years old.

Talking about Norwegian gods, it looks like John Andresen has been able to capture quite a few of these mythological figures in his portfolio. John, born, raised and living in Norway, usually doesn’t go far from home to find his men. And why should he. There is plenty of male beauty to find in the Nordic regions, guys that with their tall bodies and well defined muscles clearly descend from the powerful viking race. Hakon Kvaeken is but one example of the beauty so rich represented in John Andresen’s portfolio.

John Andresen, the man who was responsible for the famous and popular 2007 American Ballet calendar, featuring Angel Corella, sure is a man with a great eye for the physical aesthetics. As no other he has succeeded to get the most prominent athletes of the Nordic countries in front of his camera, and going through his online portfolio, one can't help but wondering, what would a Norway all star team look like? There isn't that much information to b found on the person John Andresen, but if you are interested in learning more about this talented man - and why wouldn't you - we can recommend the Beautiful Interview we published back in May 2006. If not for the information, than surely for the photographs. –B-
