Earlier in March we mentioned PREF Magazine’s 2nd anniversary, to be celebrated this month with not one, but two editions of this glossy French gay medium. On March 29th PREF will publish their first edition in what they call PREF HS (hors serie – special edition). In the same tasteful and accessible style as the regular editions, PREF HS 1 will be completely dedicated to all the photographers that helped building PREF in two years time to what it is now. And – and this is most interesting for a lot of you – it is the very first PREF written in both French and English. Thanks to our friends at PREF Mag, we can already give you a small collection of again some beautiful imagery from some beautiful photographers, with a small (re) introduction:
The sexual masculinity of Joe Oppedisano’s work hardly needs any introduction here on Beautiful. You can read all about him in the Beautiful Interview we posted on January 9th, January 13th and January 16th.
Another PREF Magazine regular here on Beautiful is François Burgun, with his unique personal approach of both male and female sexuality, not seldom in a intimate and provocative way.
François Rousseau, creator of images without contest, a singular spectacular dimension of the human body. We wrote about Rousseau before, mentioning his famous projects like ‘Habibi,’ ‘Nu,’ ‘Amor Casa,' 'The Kabuto Project' and of course his Dieux Du Stade 2004 Calendar.’
Dino Dinco gives his photos a metaphorical dimension that goes beyond simple representation. Dinco is known for his ‘Elysian Park’ series, a collection of photos taken at the open air cruising grounds in the Los Angeles park.
‘For me there is nothing sexier than guys in jockstraps having sex, or wrestling, or flexing their muscles.’ The jockstrap is a total symbol of masculinity for Russian photographer Slava Mogutin. Slava created a collection of jockstrap dogs in his series ‘Wigger’, published in PREF Magazine N° 9, 2005.
Arsen Savadov is one of the best contemporary artist of the Ukraine. He is a gifted photographer and painter, famous for his theatrical and baroque portraits.
Thanks to PREF Magazine.

i am loving your site......and would love to go through more of these images with you....it kind of moves further beyond and i do mean BEYOND the mere concept of simply cataloguing. as some people are merely content with shuttering away in their comfortable space of being closed.....a tad boring -- they are, they are. yet, i really love what you've included today.....i like the realness and multiplicity beyond the contrived and falsely staged. fabulous indeed.
have a beautiful morning!!

i think your site bottles some the essence of what a beautiful man is- raw, sensual, powerful yet vulnerable- all simultaneously real. you can actually see the pictures breathe- it isnt plastic or unreal- it's great. arguably one of the best sites that encompasses that masculine heat and yet the diversity of the gorgeous man. kudos to y'all.
