Ian Somerhalder has done rather a lot in his short career to bring him
to the attention of us gay boys. Whether playing a guy who falls in
love with a guy who’s really a girl, a bisexual hustler, or a college
jock with an unrequited affection for James Van Der Beek – Ian is most
definitely one to watch out for.
Now this particular movie with Van Der Beek, The Rules Of Attraction (2002) is one that brought Ian recently back into the news.
Ian is furious he was slammed as homophobic when he decided his famous gay kiss in The Rules Of Attraction would be his last. The 26-year-old hunk nearly lost a lot of friends as a result of the public reaction to his remark, although he insists his words had been spectacularly misconstrued. He says, "It's not me who can't handle it, it's the audience. It was completely unjustified - fans and outraged men saying that I was making anti-gay remarks. I wasn't and those very close to me who are gay were visibly upset. I'd never make a disrespectful remark about anyone, especially in public, about one's sexual preference."

I can't believe anyone would blame the audience for his problems like that. Why doesn't the President blame the country for the lousey economy them.
